William "Billy" Harvey Whitten, Sr., passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Billy was born in Savannah where he lived most of his life.  He lived in Pooler for 4 years before moving to Midway a year ago.

He worked as an electrician for Pace Electric.  Billy liked fishing, shooting pool, and working in his flower and vegetable garden.  He loved having cook outs for his friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Elsie Whitten.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Ann Whitten of Midway; sons, William Whitten, Jr. (Rochell) and Christopher Adam Whitten of Midway; a stepson, Bobby Myers (Donna) of Ellabell; a stepdaughter, Denise Powell (Ronnie) of Jesup; sisters, Reba Cail (Ron) of Faulkville, Harriet Reed (Chester) of Colorado Springs and Ruby Johnson; brothers, Gerald Whitten (Joy) of Colorado Springs, John Whitten (Connie) of Springfield, Ray Whitten of Savannah, Charles Whitten (Ann Marie) of Savannah and Kenny Whitten (Elizabeth) of Springfield; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

A visitation will be held from  6pm to 8pm, Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home.
