William Clifford Finley, Sr., age 80, of Richmond Hill, Ga. passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024 surrounded by his beloved family and has gone to be with his Heavenly Father.

Clifford was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.  Once out of the Army, he started working for Union Camp "The Bag" in 1966.  They changed their name to International Paper where he worked as a machinist for 49 years.  He loved his job and the guys he worked with, but retired in 2014 due to his Parkinson's Disease.  He also owned and operated Finley's Landscape.

He will be fondly remembered by the Groves High School Class of "62" and the yearly get-togethers for dinner which brought him great joy.  He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything.

Clifford was preceded in death by his father, William Smith Finley and his mother, Betty Leatha Thorpe Finley; brothers, Douglas Calvin Finley and Royce Mitchell Finley.

He is survived by the Love of his Life of 58 years, Peggy Ann Willis Finley and their four children, Pamela Ann Shuman (Hal) of Richmond Hill, Dawn Marie McCall (Chuck) of Savannah, Dr. William Clifford Finley, Jr. (Meechel) of Stateboro, and William Randolph Finley (Holli) of Richmond Hill; his sister, Deborah Mueller (Larry) of Guyton; his grandchildren, Trey Shuman, Will Shuman, Victoria Shuman, Lauren Ford (Brandon), Hunter McCall, Chase McCall, Saylor Calloway, Liv Finley, Piper Finley, Demry Finley, and Emma Finley; his great-grandson, Charles Finley Ford and soon to be Emerson Banks Ford.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2024 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family also wishes to thank the Staff of the 3rd floor at Memorial Hospital, GHC Hospice, Hospice Savannah, and Dr. Donald Keith Cobb for the wonderful care he always provided.

Active pallbearers will be Trey Shuman, Will Shuman, Hunter McCall, Chase McCall, Demry Finley, Brandon Ford, and Alphonso Ramsey, Jr.
