William Claude "Billy" Smith , 62, of Midway, passed on to eternity after a long battle with diabetes and cancer on July 26, 2022.

Billy was born on August 8, 1959, in Savannah, Georgia.  He graduated from Richmond Hill School and was employed at CSX Railroad and Low Country Bio Mass before being disabled.  He loved his grandchildren and family. He loved to hunt and fish.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill.

Billy is the son of the late W.H. "Bo" Smith and Rose Helmly Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cindy Andrews Smith; His son, Will Smith and his wife Veronica of Midway; three grandchildren Wesley, Cecil, and Shelby; A sister, Cindy White and her husband Roy of Richmond Hill; An aunt, Frances Thomas of Springfield; Mother-in-law Beulah Andrews Delorey of Crawfordsville, Indiana; Sister-in-law Charlotte Sinatra and her husband John; Sister-in-law Debbie Sinatra and her husband, Dan; Sister-in-law Polly Johnson and her husband, Terry; Brother-in-law Kenny Andrews and his wife, Cindy; Brother-in-law Dennis Andrews, and his wife Sherry; Many cousins, extended family, dear friends and his faithful dog, Logan.

Also the family is thankfully for Mrs. Hazel Padgett Holton for her special encouragement and love toward Billy.

A Celebration of Life will begin at  10:00 am on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at New Beginnings Community Church, 75 Crosswind Dr., Richmond Hill, GA 31324.
