Wayne Lamar Denson

March 30, 1966 – January 17, 2025

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our son, brother, father, nephew, cousin, and friend, Wayne L. Denson.

Wayne passed away at home on Friday, January 17, 2025. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alma and Cleve Walker, of Jacksonville, Florida and his paternal grandmother, Willie Hall of Albany, Ga and paternal grandfather, Ernest Denson, Sr. of Leary, GA and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Wayne was always jovial, lighthearted and hardworking and very smart.

Born to Ernest and Juanita Denson, in Albany, GA, Wayne grew up on Military bases in Stuttgart, Germany and Fort Ord, CA. Wayne attended San Carlos elementary school in Monterey and graduated from Palma High School in Salinas, CA.

Wayne's hobbies including fishing, playing sports, board games and going to the movies with his daughters. He participated and played football from pop warner through college. He set his cheering passions for the Oakland (Las Vegas) Raiders and the Florida Gators.

In college Wayne studied computer electronics but eventually settled on carpentry as a profession.  He was a member of the Carpenters Local 256 and the South Eastern Carpenters Union. He often completed projects for members of the community as requested.

Wayne leaves behind to mourn his loss his parents, Ernest and Juanita Denson, of Richmond Hill, sister  Pamela Denson, Savannah, GA, daughter Amanda Denson and granddaughter Marley, of Jackson, GA, and daughter Hannah Denson, of Clarksville, TN, aunts Priscilla Stegall of Albany, GA, Katie (Fred) Thomas of Augusta, GA, Eddie Mae Walker of Elizabeth, CO, cousins Royce Hall of Jacksonville, FL and close friend Tyrone Wright of Rincon, GA and a host of cousins and friends, too numerous to name.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2025 at First Baptist Church Richmond Hill with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the First Baptist Cemetery.
