Waylon Thomas Greenwood, our brave little warrior, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in the arms of those who loved him most, leaving behind a legacy of strength, light, and unshakable spirit.

Born on February 1, 2024, in Savannah, Georgia, at just 25 weeks and 6 days, weighing a mere 11 ounces, Waylon came into the world tiny—but mighty. From his first breath, he showed us all what it meant to be a fighter. His journey spanned 141 days in the NICU in Savannah, followed by 217 more in Atlanta. Through it all, he never stopped inspiring everyone around him.

Waylon finally came home for two precious months—months filled with music, snuggles, sass, and joy. He had a big personality in a small body: he loved music, especially when people sang to him, and gave the best eye rolls you've ever seen. A ladies' man from the very beginning, Waylon had a way of stealing hearts with just a look—and maybe a little attitude.

He is cherished beyond words by his loving parents, Haley and Joseph Greenwood; his adoring brothers, Kaiden and Tripp; maternal grandparents, Paula Stanley and Don Stanley (Angela); paternal grandparents, Christy and Joe Greenwood; maternal great-grandmother, Emma Davis, paternal great-grandmother, Catherine Strickland; maternal great-grandfather, Thomas Stanley, Sr., and numerous of aunts, uncles, cousins, and NICU nurses and doctors who became part of his extended family.

Waylon touched more lives in his short time than most do in a lifetime. He taught us to fight hard, love big, and never underestimate the power of a tiny soul with a huge will.

A celebration of Waylon's life will be Thursday, June 26,2025 at 3:00 P.M with visitation starting at 1:00 P.M.
