Wanda Sue Rice, age 86, passed away on January 14, 2026. She was born on October 7, 1939, in Denison, Texas, and was raised in Hendrix, Oklahoma.

Wanda lived in Richmond Hill, Georgia, for the past 18 years, having previously resided in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She attended Church of the Hill.

Wanda was a retired hairdresser who dedicated many years to her profession. She worked in several salons and was also a sole proprietor. A true trailblazer, she became the first woman in Kemp, Oklahoma, to open a beauty salon in her garage. Her passion for cosmetology led her to serve on the Board of Cosmetologists in New Mexico.

Known for her vibrant personality, Wanda was a proud member of the Corvette Club and was often recognized by her red hair that perfectly matched her red Corvette. She loved to travel to places including Saudi Arabia and Alaska to visit her daughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wylie and Julia Walson; her four brothers; and her two sisters.

Wanda is survived by her loving children, daughters Jennifer Fournier (David) and Rosie Tomforde (Tom), and her son Brain Rice (Donna); her sister, Kathryn Jones; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren, all of whom will fondly remember her strength, independence, and love of life.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 28th, 2026 at Church of the Hill with visitation one hour prior to the service.
