Richmond Hill-Viola Pearl "Betty" Boyett, age 79, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Betty was born in Metter, but lived most of her life in Garden City and Richmond Hill.  She worked for Bryan Bank & Trust Co. and retired from First Union Bank after many years of service.  Betty worked as a poll worker in Bryan County and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.  She was a creative artist.

Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, John Lewis Boyett; her parents, Homer and Pearl Brown; and two brothers, J.W. Brown and Lamar Brown.

She is survived by her husband, Charlie H. Bell; children, Susie (Steve) Edwards and Robert (Stella) Boyett; a brother, Clyde (Faye) Brown; sisters, Kathryn Cleghorn, Wilma Harper, Milred (Larry) Mongin, Cleone (Jerry) Brown; grandchildren, Amy (Michael) Hickox, Alicia (Russell) Elliott, Stephanie Edwards, Katie (Michael) Simmons, Alvin Hesler, John (Emily) Edwards,  and Nicole (William) Alderman; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the Lake Church Cemetery in Metter, GA.
