Shirley Arseneault, a resident of Savannah/Richmond Hill area, unexpectedly passed away in her home from natural causes on May 28, 2017. She was born on October 16, 1938, to Frank and Pearl Ellington in Statesboro, Georgia.
Her family moved to Guyton, Georgia where she graduated from Guyton High School in 1956. She moved to the Savannah/Richmond Hill area and lived here until her death.
In her early years and adulthood she was very active and participated in softball, basketball and volleyball. Her high activity level translated into a great mother. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Shirley also enjoyed serving in various capacities at her church, especially working with the children and youth.
Shirley was preceded to the other side of the veil by her parents and three of her brothers; Gene, Harry and Dan. They each have certainly received a big hug. Her brother, James, and sister, Jewel, still reside in the Savannah area.
Shirley is also survived by all four of her children; Elton Cribbs (Judie), of Houston; TX, Gay Wilson, of Hinesville; Amy Whitted (David) of Savannah and Kim Thyer (Dan) of Charlotte, NC.; her grandchildren, Brittney Strebel, Josh Cribbs, Ryan Cribbs, Jacob Cribbs, Caleb Wilson, April Hyden, Garet Hyden, Dillon Whitted, Taylor Harrison and Kendall Harrison; and seven great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 1, 2017, 6:00pm till 8:00pm at the Richmond Hill Funeral Home, 1809 Ford Ave. Richmond Hill, GA. Funeral services will be held 11:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1200 King George Blvd, Savannah, GA, Friday June 2, 2017 with burial following.Thursday
