In Loving Memory of Sheryl Kirby

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sheryl Kirby, who passed away on July 20, 2026, at the age of 61.
Born on December 28, 1965, in Savannah, Georgia, Sheryl lived a life filled with compassion, laughter, and an unwavering love for her family, friends, students, and community. She had a gift for making others feel welcome and cared for, leaving a lasting impression on everyone, fortunate enough to know her.

Sheryl dedicated her career to education, teaching at Richmond Hill Middle School, Groves High School, Snelson Middle School, and Bradwell institute. Her greatest passion was working with children with disabilities, and she approached every student with patience, understanding, and a genuine belief in their potential. She didn't just teach lessons; she inspired confidence, celebrated accomplishments, and made countless young lives brighter through her kindness and encouragement.

Outside the classroom, Sheryl embraced life with enthusiasm. She was a devoted Disney fan whose excitement was contagious, a proud supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs, and someone who found peace and happiness in the beauty of the outdoors. Whether she was camping beneath the stars, leading her Girl Scout troop on new adventures, or creating handmade crafts to share with family and friends, she found joy in bringing people together and making lasting memories.

Sheryl is lovingly survived by her son, Christopher Hodges (wife Lauren Hodges; her daughters, Jennifer Hodges (husband Bill Young) and Jessica Goode (husband Tony Goode); and her five beloved grandchildren, Milee, Gaege, Gracelynn, Eliza, and Liam, who brought endless joy to her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sandy and Tommy Driggers and Brother John Thomas Jr.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sheryl's life at Richmond Hill Funeral Home on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the memorial service starting at 4:00 p.m.
