Shelley Carnes Smith, age 35, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Shelley was born in Savannah and lived most of her life in Richmond Hill and Savannah. She formerly worked at HCI and she attended Compassion Christian Church. In spite of her many difficult times, she always remained positive and kept a smile on her face.

Shelley loved her boys with all her heart and she loved her many friends.  She also liked taking care of her little plants.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Gilbert Carnes.

Shelley is survived by her two sons, Landon McDowell and Noah McDowell both of Richmond Hill; her mother, Glenda Hill of Savannah; her brother, Dale Carnes of Cobbtown; her maternal grandfather, Albert Hill of Savannah; and the father of her children, Chad McDowell of Richmond Hill.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 8, 2019 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
