SFC Christopher J. Nielson, age 52, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.

Chris was born in Eugene, Oregon.  He has lived in Richmond Hill since 2005.

He was an Aviation Admin Support Specialist in the U.S. Army stationed at Ft. Stewart.  Chris served in Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom, Operation Sentinel, and served in the Multi-Theatre Support Center in Qatar.

Chris was a very honorable man and he loved his his family and work very much.  He also enjoyed his cats, dogs, and fish.

Chris is survived by his wife, Brenna Nielson of Richmond Hill; his daughter, Nicole R. Nielson (Matthew Wylie) of Powder Springs, GA; his son, Heith Christopher Nielson (Megan) of Hinesville; two brothers, Eric Nielson of Sweethome, OR and Hans Nielson of Eugene, OR.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
