Sandra Joan James, 76, of Anderson, California passed away on June 28, 2022.

Sandra was born on April 2, 1946 in Savannah, Georgia to Johnnie and Edna Love.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert James, her daughter Beverly James, her father Johnnie Love, her mother Edna Love, her sister Louise Allen and her brother Billy Love.

Sandra is survived by her sons Michael James and Steven James, her sister Freida Sikes, her brothers Thomas Love, Johnnie Love Jr, and Roy Love, and her grandchildren Matthew Clark and Amanda James.

Sandra spent her childhood in Savannah, Georgia. Once married, she travelled with her husband, who served in the Navy, to many locations around the United States. In 1973, they were able to put down roots in Sunnyvale, California where they purchased a home to raise their three children. Not long after her husband passed, she briefly moved back to Georgia, but then returned to California to be back near her three children. In 2020, her eldest son Michael built her a beautiful custom home on his and his wife's property in a peaceful and rural area of Shasta County, California with striking vistas and unobstructed views of both Mount Shasta and Mount Lassen.

Sandra had a heart of gold, a beautiful smile and gave much more than she took. She loved her family and friends very much and always looked for ways to make their day brighter. Her favorite hobbies were reading from her Kindle, quilting and building jigsaw puzzles. She created from scratch from her own design many quilts over the years that she gave away to her family, including many to her granddaughter Amanda. While her custom home was being built, she spent time putting together many jigsaw puzzles that she framed and hung on the walls of her new home once it was finished.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 14 at 2 pm, at Elkins Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and daughter.
