Sandra Dunn, age 77, passed away peacefully on August 9th at Bryan County Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She lived her life, both personally and professionally, on her own terms.  She may have seemed rough around the edges to some, but she was fiercely independent and somewhat adventurous.  Through the years, she held a variety of jobs.  She was a Bell South operator, a long-haul trucker, a dump truck driver, a realtor, a horse drawn carriage tour guide, and a manager just to name a few.

In order to become a long-haul trucker, she went to the dealership and bought a semi.  She then explained that if they wanted it off of their lot, someone was going to have to teach her to drive it.  This is just one example of her grit and tenacity.

Her interests were varied and revolving.  She was an avid reader and a gun enthusiast.  Her greatest passion was her animals.  She especially loved horses and dogs.  She had love, patience, and understanding for her beloved pets.  Known to have a variety of animals at any given time, your never knew what critter to expect when you visited.  She also loved to buy, sell, and trade a variety of things.  She loved a lively negotiation (argument).

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Dunn and her parents, Naomi Tuttle Anderson and William Andrew Anderson.

She is survived by her daughter, Salina Furlong, son-in-law, Gary Furlong; and three grandchildren, Kaitlin, Sarah, and Michael Furlong.  She was also expecting her first great-grandchild.

Sandra was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah.
