Marian Ruth Miles, age 92, passed away Thursday,  March 20, 2025 at Hospice Savannah.

Ruth was born in Kite, Ga. to the late Cecil and Flora Hayes.  She lived in Savannah for many years before making Midway her home in 1972.  Ruth was a member of Midway United Methodist Church.

She retired from Union Bag Company.  Ruth and her husband, William, then became entrepreneurs and opened Midway Truck Center.  When they closed that business, they opened Lake George Get-N-Go and operated it until 2024.

Ruth loved working at the store and talking to all of her customers that came in.  She was a people person.  She enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves baseball and she loved working in her yard and her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William E. Miles; two brothers, Alton Hayes and Edward Hayes.

Ruth is survived by her two sons, John William Miles and Randy Miles (Jami); her sister, Thelma Dixon; three grandchildren, Robbie Miles, Justin Miles, and Trey Bragg; three great-grandchildren, Amelia Miles, Alex Miles, and Aiden Bragg.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home.

Graveside services at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens will be private.
