Russell S. Jones, 89, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at Bryan County Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Russell was born in Woonsocket, RI.  He has lived in Savannah most of his life.  He retired after many years of service from the Southside Fire Department in Chatham County as a firefighter.

He was a dedicated fireman and loved every aspect of his job.  Russell was able to ride on the fire trucks on calls even after his retirement.  He also loved his family and friends very much.

Russell is preceded in death by his first wife, Lucy Sershing, his second wife, Marie Jones, and his daughter, Kathleen Patrick.

He is survived by his two granddaughters, Brandi Finch (Bruce) of Rincon and Mandi Owens (James) of Statesboro; 6 great-grandchildren; and close friends, Jim and Pat Newton of Guyton.

It was Russell's wishes that no services be held.
