Rose Marie Rowland Wynn, 89, of Richmond Hill, Georgia went to her heavenly home April 7, 2026.

Marie was born the first of 6 children to JC and Rosa Lea Rowland on July 30, 1936 in Brooks county, Ga; where they raised her on a small farm. She was a bright and dedicated student at Morven Georgia High school; where she was a member of the Beta Club. Marie went on to work at the Quitman Manufacturing Co. where she met Marvin Shell. She and Marvin married and moved to Fleming Ga where they spent most of their lives together.

Marie worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She also used her gifts and talents of organization and song while serving as a member in the Fleming Baptist Church where she kept records and sang along side Marvin in the choir. Her faith in Jesus was well demonstrated.

Marie had a passion for gardening and was especially known for her ability to produce the most beautiful beds of roses and tomatoes. She also got a lot of joy from fishing and spent much of her leisure time in the boat with Marvin and family in Welaka, Florida reeling in great catches. She was a terrific cook and took pride in gathering family together for meals and holiday celebrations.  Marie made a point to set standards of true southern lady etiquette. She was admired and respected by her family whom held her in highest esteem for her faith and eagerness to live righteously.

Marie was a devout wife to Marvin and tended to his every need during his battle with Parkinson's right up until the Lord took him home in 2008.

As time passed God brought her together with Rodney Wynn. They had 14 years joined in marriage as they took pleasure in traveling and gardening.  Marie was loved dearly by Rodney and she created special bonds with his children and their families.

When Rodney went to heaven in 2022; Marie decided to make her home at Magnolia Manor, where she thrived. She had the close care and most dedicated advocacy of her youngest daughter Ann while living out her final years at Magnolia.  Marie attended Chapel 3 times a week during her stay and received the loving attention of what came to be "family" from the staff there until Jesus called her home.

Marie is survived by her three daughters Veronica Doniel (Billy), Sherry Kicklighter (Tommy), Ann Swafford (Johnny). She also acquired four sons through marriage Lee, Raymond, Stevie, and Doug. Six Grandchildren Christy, Rocky, Tommy, Randee, Destiny, Mica. Great grandchildren Jurnee, Amanda, Dylan, Collin, Hayes, Taylor, Kade, Gavin, and Brennan. Great great grandchildren Kendall, Ellis, Anderson, Avery, Brother Greg Rowland and Sister Judy Leonard.

She was preceded in death by her mother and daddy, sisters Betty and Sue, her brother Johnny, and her granddaughter Lora Leigh.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 10th, 2026 12:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial services immediately following at Mt Olivet Cemetery.
