Robert Thomas Perry Jr., age 72 of Richmond Hill, GA passed away on Friday, November 7th 2025 surrounded by family.

Robert was born on the 6th of June, 1953 in Sumter, SC. Rob lived his life serving his country, never meeting a stranger, and loving his family. He was a devoted husband to Paula, an amazing father to Cheryl & Robert, and doting grandfather to his grandson Colton Perry Harper.

Rob joined the Army in 1980 and dedicated his life to his country through his service as an Army Aviator. He attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3 and served with the 3rd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), known as the "Night Stalkers" for years including during the Gulf War. After military retirement he continued to serve his country as a Department of the Army Civilian Safety Officer. He had multiple deployments to the Middle East, both in the army and as a civilian Safety Officer.

Some of Rob's interests and hobbies included learning about log homes, kit cars, and aviation. His love of music and playing the keyboard inspired his grandson to take up keyboard as well. He enjoyed spending family time watching classic science fiction movies. He was also well known for his sweet tooth. Over the years, he loved attending family reunions with his family in Oklahoma.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Paula, daughter Cheryl Harper (Bryan) and grandson Colton of Statesboro, GA; son Robert Perry III (Maripaz) of Orlando, FL; his siblings, Ronald Perry (Marvanna) of Altus, OK; Donna Altom (Donald) of Hollis, OK; Den Knight (Sandy) of Westfork, Arkansas; and many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents RT and Eunice Perry and niece Danyle Altom.

The visitation will be held at Richmond Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 12th from 10:30 - 11:30. The funeral will be held at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Glennville at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to organizations supporting Parkinson's and Lewy body Dementia.

Robert's legacy includes (but is not limited to) love of family, children, animals, kindness, Georgia Southern football, God, duty, honor, and country.

He will be greatly missed for his steady calmness and unconditional love. Please pray for his family as they try to adjust to this loss
