Robert J. Knowles of Savannah, Georgia, quietly departed this life on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at his
residence.

Rob, as we affectionately called him, was born in Riviera Beach, Florida on May 17, 1954, to the
late Joseph and Mary Meeks Knowles. He was the third child of their seven children―he and brothers:
Malachi, Simeon, Freddie, and John; and sisters: Mary and Martha.

He received his formative education in the public school system of Palm Beach County, Florida where
he was a member of the Palm Beach Garden High School graduation class of 1972. He continued his
education by pursuing mechanical engineering and architectural courses in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and
furthered his education through on-the job training at his places of employment.

Rob was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He received training as a Multi-Channel Radio
Operator, was awarded a Rifle Expert Badge, and was honorably discharged after three years of service to
his country. He relocated to the Savannah, Georgia area shortly after his discharge.

Rob had impeccable work ethics. He worked several types of jobs in the retail, distribution and
manufacturing industries, ending with a maintenance position at NFI in Rincon, Georgia.

On November 7, 2003, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Sara D. Lee. This union was blessed and
meshed traditions and lifestyles of mother, son, and granddaughter into one happy, loving family.
Rob was a generous person with an exuberant personality. He brought joy and laughter to all who
knew him; he enjoyed and cherished his relationships with family and friends; and delighted in fishing,
grilling, and listening to "old" school music. He will be reminisced about by those who loved him as a
loving husband and stepfather, best granddad, brother, and brother-in-law, favorite uncle and cousin, and
wonderful friend.

Rob was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Knowles, and his brother, Simeon Joseph
Knowles.

He leaves to cherish his memories: beloved wife, Sara D. Knowles, Savannah, GA; loving stepson,
Antwan C. (Tameka) Lee, Savannah, GA; mother-in-law, Flora C. Brown, Savannah, GA; cherished
grandchildren Cierra Lee, Cocoa, FL, and Gabriel Lee, Savannah, GA; an adoring great-granddaughter,
Milani Jackson, Cocoa, FL; brothers, Malachi (Essie) Knowles, Riviera Beach, FL, Freddie Knowles, Riviera
Beach, FL, and John (Yvette) Knowles, Riviera Beach, FL; sisters, Mary (Clarence) Roundtree, Lake Park, FL,
and Martha Knowles, Riviera Beach, FL; sisters in-law, Carolyn (Jeffrey) Donald, Savannah, GA, and Anita
Brown, Atlanta, GA; god-children, Miehisa (Alex) Zahorski, Rural Hall, NC, Derrick Lee, Savannah, GA,
Stacey (Bret) Higgins, Garfield Heights, OH, Yteria Smith, Savannah, GA, and Takira Brown, Savannah, GA;
and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends too numerous to mention but loved and very
much appreciated.

There will be a cookout celebrating the life of Robert J. Knowles on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 1 pm to 7 pm at the J.F. Gregory Park, John W. Stevens Wetlands Education Center at 500 Cedar St., Richmond Hill, GA 31324.
