Robert "Bob" Sweeney, age 58, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Hospice Savannah.

Robert Glenn Sweeney was born January 18,1964 in Clearview, Illinois.

After serving his country in the US Navy, Bob came to Savannah where he met and married Frances Parker. They were married for 23 years, and had one child, Luke, who Bob loved dearly. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

Bob painted aircraft at Gulfstream for 15 years, then went on to work for Walgreens in the set up and construction of new stores.

Bob made a name for himself when he opened his restaurant in Keller, GA. His homestyle cooking quickly made the Cast Iron Cafe a popular place to eat and visit with local people.

Bob also enjoyed fishing, music, gardening, and cars.

He is preceded in death by his father Emery Glenn Sweeney, his loving step father, Gary Clark, and his sister, Susan Sweeney.

He is survived by his mother, Sue Clark of Illinois, his wife, Frances Sweeney, and his son Luke Sweeney.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sweeney family to assist them with funeral and medical expenses.
