Paul R. Mayer, age 94, died February 23, 2021 after a valiant fight to recover from complications after a fall.  Paul was born and raised in Minnesota but moved to Savannah, GA to work as a plant engineer for Hobart Corporation in Richmond Hill. After his retirement, his practical and analytical side kept him active and busy finding new uses for old things.  Calculating, measuring and re-working everything filled his days.

Paul is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn O. Mayer, and his two sons, Mitchell G. Mayer and Daniel D. Mayer.  He is survived by daughters Lynda Reis (Robin) of Waleska, GA, Karrie Walker (Michael) of Savannah, GA, daughter-in-law Rebecca Lynn Mayer of Pooler, GA, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

As a U.S. Army WWII veteran, Paul's life will be honored in a private service at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, GA when COVID restrictions are lifted.
