After a yearlong battle with cancer, at home and surrounded by her children, Patricia Campbell passed peacefully on November 29th, 2024, at the age of 71.

The youngest of Wyburg and Mary Hanberry's three girls, Pat was born during a tour of duty in Anchorage, Alaska, on December 27th, 1952. She was raised in Savannah, attending Romana Riley, then Savannah High, and was blessed to work with children, her life's calling. She cherished "going to the movies," enjoyed making things with her hands, and loved to sing and dance to good music.

At age 20 she found Jesus and has proudly served Him for fifty years, sharing her smile and her story to bring others to Christ, including her mother. Never wasting a moment being idle, she taught VBS and Sunday School, led Grief Share and Bible studies, served the sick, volunteered at her children's schools, and did all this while teaching Pre- School and raising four kids.

Pat married Johnny "JW" Campbell and they remained devoted to one another for forty-five years, until his death, setting an example for their children of what it means to compromise, to forgive, and to never give up.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wyburg Metzger and Mary Morel Hanberry, her husband Johnny Campbell, her sisters Sandra Migchelbrink and Joan Sibilio, and her grandson Michael Harte Campbell.

She is survived by her children: Zane Campbell (Becky), Melody Young (Jim), Matt Campbell (Chrissy), and Jessica Carbone (Steven); thirteen grandchildren, Tristan (Ashlyn), Olivia, Hunter (Alexis), Lane, Carter, Mary Kathryn, Ella, Christian, Cameron, Mia, Colt, Andrew, Wesley, and one great-granddaughter, Tatum Young.

Patricia Mary Campbell had great faith and truly walked the walk, leaving a legacy of love for her family. She showed us how to live and at the end, with dignity and grace, she showed us how to die. She will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

A Celebration of Pat's Life will be held @11:00 a.m., Friday, December 6, 2024, at Richmond Hill Funeral Home with Visitation one hour prior to the service. Followed by a private burial at Burnt Church Cemetery.
