Nancy Flanders Gunter, beloved wife, cherished friend, and devoted follower of Christ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on April 25, 2025 after a long illness.  She was 72 years old.

Nancy worked many years for Union Camp/International Paper Co. and retired from Armstrong State University.  Her dedication and kindness touched the lives of many coworkers.  She was a member of Richmond Hill Full Gospel Church.

Nancy will be remembered for her unwavering faith in Jesus, which sustained her throughout her illness and shone brightly in her life. Her beautiful voice graced the church choir, bringing joy and comfort to countless individuals.  Beyond her faith, she possessed a gentle spirit and a deep love for life, finding great pleasure in the simple things: tending her vibrant flower gardens, losing herself in a good book, and escaping to the serenity of the mountains.

Nancy found immense joy in her flower gardening, where she nurtured not only plants but also the love and beauty that surrounded her. Her garden was a reflection of her nurturing soul, a place where she cultivated not just blooms, but also cherished memories.    An avid reader, Nancy had a passion for books and history that transported her to times and places. She often shared her love for books with those around her, inspiring many to find solace and adventure within the pages of a good book.  Nancy also had a deep appreciation for the mountains, where she found peace and tranquility. Whether riding through the winding roads or simply enjoying the breathtaking views, the mountains were a sanctuary for her spirit, a place where she felt most connected to nature.

Above all, Nancy was a devoted wife to her husband of 33 years. Their love was a testament to partnership and commitment, built on mutual respect, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they created a life filled with love, adventure, and countless cherished memories.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, J. E. (Preacher) and Sybil Flanders.  She is also preceded in death by her beloved fur babies, Prissy and Sophie.

Nancy is survived by her husband Jacob Wayne Gunter  and  her sister, Janice Davis (J. C.) of Savannah.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nancy's radiant spirit and enduring love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and beauty that will continue to inspire us all.

Viewing will be Monday, Apr. 28th from 6 pm until 8 pm at Richmond Hill Funeral Home.  Memorial service will be held at Richmond Hill Full Gospel Church on Tuesday, April 29th at 11 am.  Body will lie in state at church one hour prior to service.  Burial will be at Lower Black Creek Cemetery.

The family is grateful for the kind and compassionate care she received from Hospice Savannah during the last days of her life.
