Matthew Donald Logie, 25, entered his eternal rest in the arms of God June 8, 2018.

Matt was born August 12, 1992, in a military hospital at Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha, Nebraska to Bryan and Colleen Logie.  His father's Air Force career took him to North Carolina and Illinois before settling in Richmond Hill, Georgia.

Matt started first grade at Richmond Hill Primary School and graduated from Richmond Hill High school in 2010.  He was a member of the Richmond Hill High School Wildcats Marching Band his Freshman through Junior years where they won many awards.

Matt joined Pack 400 and worked his way up to earn the rank of Star Scout with Troop 400.  He loved reading, debating any subject, and was big into all types of gaming.

Matt's passion, however, was as a musician and music is where he excelled.  There didn't seem to be an instrument he couldn't play.  While he enjoyed drums and guitar the most, he played keyboard, trombone, saxophone, euphonium, trumpet, and even gave the violin a whirl.  He enjoyed performing open mic nights with his friends at the Wormhole in Savannah, GA, and played a few stints at Love's Seafood on Hwy 17.  He was in the band Iliad with some of his closest friends.  We will miss hearing random guitar music coming from his room, or an hour of booming drums from upstairs.  He wrote his own songs, played each instrument, and merged it all together to make his own albums.

Matthew held several jobs as a pizza chef and cook and was always enthusiastic about what he learned from these positions and tried learning more on his own.  Deciding to make a switch, his last job, with Stanley Steemer, seemed to make him the happiest we had seen him for some time. He liked the work, loved the people he worked with, and though he came home tired after a long day, he still enjoyed it.

Matthew made friends easily and was known for his generosity and humor.  Whenever someone close to him needed something, he gave without complaint or hesitation.  He didn't resent sacrificing his time or money. If someone needed it, it was theirs.  His quick wit would keep everyone laughing.  He was a treasured son, grandson, brother, and friend.

He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather Oman Maynard, his maternal step-grandfather James Cooley, his cousin Joshua Logie, and his beloved dog Heidi.

He is survived by his parents Bryan and Colleen (Maynard) Logie, his brother Nick Logie, maternal grandmother Pauline Cooley, paternal grandparents Don and Vera Logie, his aunts Cathy (Richard) Reese and Oma Baker (Larry), his uncles Chet Maynard, Bruce Logie, Brad (Jenny) Logie, and Brent (Genny) Logie, several cousins, and his maternal foster-grandparents Jo and Bill Percy and their extended family.

May his music play on in heaven.

A memorial service will be held at the Richmond Hill Funeral Home, Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11 A.M. with visitation one hour prior to service.
