Mary W. Ward, passed away on July 31, 2025. She was born on August 4, 1940. She was the daughter of the late James Wheeler and Inez Wheeler Robertson (Windell).

Mary graduated from Savannah High School. She worked part time at Belk and was a full-time homemaker. She loved her family fiercely. She wanted to take care of everyone, and her generosity knew no bounds. She was quick witted and had a sense of humor that was golden. She was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life Ray Ward, and daughter Sherry Buttimer.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Joanie Ward Steptoe (Ric), son-in-law, Tommy Buttimer; grandchildren, Michael Buttimer (Crystal), Tyler Steptoe, Ray Buttimer (Melisa); great-grandchildren, Thomas Buttimer, Nathan Buttimer; and sister-in-law, Fran Twomey.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 40 White Oak Lane on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
