Mary Marguerite Reid's Obituary
Mary Marguerite Reid died on Wednesday, 2 August 2017, with her
family by her side. The daughter of Charles and Millie Burnett, Mary was born
on 27 March, 1919 in London, Kentucky. She knew she wanted to become a
nurse when she was thirteen years old and graduated from Mary Black
Memorial School of Nursing in Spartanburg, South Carolina in July 1944.
She married her former husband, James H. Reid, on 17 August 1946. She
was one of the first nurses to work at Memorial Health University
Medical Center in 1955. She retired from Memorial in November of 1982.
Mary is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and John Mallory, of Richmond Hill,
a grandaughter and grandson-in-law, Mary Catherine and Jason Kallio, of Richmond Hill,
a grandson, Gene Reid Mallory of Savannah, and two great-grandaughters, Jolie Mallory
Kallio and Mila Jay Kallio of Richmond Hill; and family friend Aaron Watkins of Midway.
