Mary C (Kelly) Egan, of Venice, Florida, passed away on May 16, 2017 at Insignia at Savannah, Georgia, at the age of 86 years.

Born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, to the late James A. and Mary C. (Regan) Kelly, she lived in Toms River, New Jersey, and Whiting, New Jersey before retiring to Venice, Florida in 2012. A librarian for 60 years, Mary worked for Jersey City Free Public Library, Ocean County Library in Toms River, and 40 years for St. Joseph Grade School, Toms River.  She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Catholic Church, Whiting and Epiphany Cathedral, Venice.

Mary was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Mark E. Egan, in 2007, and by all of her siblings. She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Egan-Bittner and husband Robert of Venice, Florida, formerly of Toms River, and Beth Amato and husband Carlo of Coral Springs, Florida, 3 grandchildren, Tara Bittner, Erin Laffredo, and Joseph Amato, and 5 great grandchildren, Norah, Ian, Isabella, Zachary, and Gabriel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Martha Mary Chapel at St. Anne Catholic Church, Richmond Hill, Georgia, on Friday, May, 19, 2017 at 11 am.   Interment will take place at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida.
