Sergeant First Class (Retired) Martin "Marty" Roberts Jr., age 64, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, and a proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Martin entered this life on October 3, 1961, in Anne Arundel, Maryland, to Martin Preston Roberts Sr. and Mary Boggs Austin. From an early age, he embodied the values of dedication, integrity, and service that would define his life.

Marty honorably served his country in the United States Army for 20 years, including service with the highly respected 3rd Infantry Division. Throughout his distinguished military career, he demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment. In recognition of his accomplishments, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (5th Award), Army Achievement Medal (8th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3rd Award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award), Expert Infantryman Badge, and the prestigious Gold Recruiter Badge with one Sapphire Star.

Following his military retirement, Martin continued to serve as a Field Service Representative for the Army. He carried forward the same work ethic and discipline that defined his Army career as he deployed to Iraq twice ensuring Soldiers received the best support he could provide.

Beyond his professional life, Martin had a deep appreciation for travel and found great joy in exploring new places and experiencing the beauty of nature. He also had a passion for Corvettes, which brought him both pride and enjoyment.

Above all, Martin's greatest role and proudest accomplishment was his family. He was a devoted husband of 40 years to his wife, Beverly, and a loving father to his sons, Derrick and Neal. He cherished his role as "Pops" to his grandchild, Wrenn. Martin poured his heart into his family, serving not only as a father but as a mentor, guide, and loyal friend. His unwavering support, strength, and love will remain a lasting legacy in
their lives.

Martin is survived by his wife, Beverly Roberts; his sons, Derrick Ferguson and Neal Roberts; Daughter in-laws Brianna Ferguson and Daisy Roberts and his grandchild, Wrenn. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A private celebration of life will be held with close family and friends. SFC (Ret.) Martin P. Roberts will be remembered for his honorable service, his steadfast character, and the love he gave so freely to his family and country.
