Marinell Fender Wright, 81 years of age, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Hospice House of Savannah after a long series of illnesses. She loved her Lord and was a faithful member of Southwest Baptist Church.

She was born on May 30, 1940, in Lakeland, GA, to Roy B. Fender and Mary Leila Zorn Taylor. She left school in the 6th grade to help support her family. She was saved in August of 1951, and married William Perry Wright on February 14, 1959.

For many years she served as a kindergarten teacher showing her love for all the children she taught. She lived her life with a servant's heart, volunteering at food banks, election sites, and anywhere else she could. She had a passion for gardening, both flower and vegetable gardens, tending to each with a green thumb.

She lived up to her name, Mema, in every way, faithfully praying each and every day for all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She prayed for each of their soul's salvation.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William P. Wright; her parents; step=parents; eight siblings; one daughter; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her brothers, Travis Fender and Kenneth Fender; her children, Barbara Loveless (Larry); Joseph Wright (Lisa); Laverne Rawson; Mashone Van Reid (Charles); and Kandi Padgett (Jason). She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
