On Sunday, December 22, 2024, Marian (Bacon) Bolum, 61, left us for heaven while
surrounded by her loving family.

Marian was born on December 15, 1963, in Smithtown, New York, the daughter of the late
Helen Simoncic and Charles Bacon Jr.. Marian spent her childhood in East Islip, New York
along with her five siblings, Janet, Charles, Jacqueline, Margaret and Rose.

She married Kevin Bolum on March 17, 1989. Her lifelong sweetheart, the two began dating
when they were 13 years old. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, love, and
cherished memories.

As a mother, Marian was a guiding light to her Sunshine, Kaitlin. Kaitlin was her pride and joy.
She cherished every moment spent together with her. She also welcomed with open arms her
son-in-law Erik, whom she loved as her own.

Marian was also a proud Nana to her little Miss Sunshine, Emilia. Emilia brought out the best in
her, and she appreciated the time spent making memories, whether it was sharing stories,
baking together, or simply offering a hug when it was needed most.

Marian had a passion for being in the kitchen. She became a certified Master Food Preserver
from Cornell University and used those skills to preserve the most delicious jams, pickles, and
sauces. She loved to educate people on how to safely preserve food using proper techniques. It
sparked the idea for her business, Farm to Jars. She was always inspiring those around her to
use farm fresh ingredients, that were heart-healthy, while still being able to create delicious and
nutritious meals.

She also had such a creative eye and enjoyed creating art, like her mother Helen. She loved to
do projects and create things for others to enjoy. She loved spending time with her craft group
friends over the past few years, a group of women who fully welcomed her with open arms.
Marian could also be found with yarn in tote, knitting blankets for others who will cherish them
forever.

Marian touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and beautiful spirit. She will be
remembered for her smile, her unwavering support, and her remarkable ability to make
everyone feel seen and loved.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
