Maria Bazemore Williams, 76 of Richmond Hill, Ga passed away August 27, 2018. Born in Statesboro, Ga, she was a twin and one of 5 daughters of Joseph E. and Rubye (Lynn) Bazemore.

Mrs. Williams spent many years in the banking industry, retiring from Savannah Bank and Trust in 1981. After her retirement from banking she continued to work for Savannah Foods until 1988.

Maria's memberships included Beta Sigma Phi sorority, American Institute of Banking, serving as President of the Savannah Chapter, and was a member of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, Richmond Hill, Ga.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Courtney C. Williams, her twin sister, Mavis C. Weaver of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kay Nary (Tim) of Swainsboro, Ga, Judy Wilson (Wayne) of Fairfield, IL, and Sarah Carter of Savannah, GA. She is also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews.  Maria hosted 2 very special Dutch exchange students and remained in touch for many years; Walter Verbert and Marc Van Veem.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday September 4, 2018 at 2:00 at St Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, Richmond Hill, GA., with The Rev. Dr. C. Clark Hubbard officiating. After the service a gathering of family and friends will be held at the church.  Memorial gifts in Mrs. William's memory may be made to the St. Elizabeth's Relief Fund, 16491 GA-144,  Richmond Hill, GA 31324.
