Margaret Christine Nelson-Farruggio went to be with the Lord on the early morning of March 13th, 2022 at 78 years old. She liked to go by "Chris." She was born on October 24th, 1943 in Lenoir, North Carolina where she was raised near the beautiful Smoky Mountains into her early 20's. She then moved to the Midwest, where she got married and raised a family of four. After her children were grown, Chris moved to Florida and worked in retail while being near family and enjoying the Florida sun and scenery. In March 2011, she retired and moved to Richmond Hill, GA where she continued to enjoy the beautiful weather and being close to her family.

Chris loved Jesus and reading uplifting, spiritual books, particularly her Bible. No matter where she was, she surrounded herself with her incredible plants and flowers as she had an impressive "green thumb." Chris loved birds, shells from the beach, and other things relating to nature. She enjoyed crafts, such as crocheting and creating beautiful wreaths to hang on her door. Chris loved to spend time with her family laughing and sharing meals together. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly. Chris will be deeply missed by her family, and we know we will see her again one day!

Chris is survived by her children Lisa (Farruggio) Childers, Philip Farruggio, Nicky Farruggio, and Deana (Eric) Clark, her sister Kathleen (John) Henderson, her grandchildren Missy (Tyler) Shepard, Sara (Darrell) Childers, Jake Childers, Amy (Farruggio) Martinez, Joey (Jessica) Farruggio, Justin (Elizabeth) Farruggio, Alyssa Clark, Brenden Clark, and her 13 wonderful great-grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by her father Elmer Nelson, mother Mossie Crisp Nelson, brothers Johnny Nelson, Stanley (Goldie) Nelson, Gary Nelson, Eddie Nelson, and sisters Irene Church and Pauline Borman.
