Magdalena Van Rensburg, age 47, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019.

"Lena" as she was known, was born in Ixopo, South Africa. She traveled all over the world with her husband and his work. She spent a number of years in Greenville, SC before moving to Richmond Hill eight years ago.

Lena loved baking cakes and cookies. She especially liked trying different recipes from a variety of cultures. The most important thing to Magdalena was being a mother to her two sons.

She is survived by her husband, Kobie Van Rensburg of Richmond Hill; her sons, Quintin Van Resnburg of Statesboro and Zailon Xwadastet of Richmond Hill; her parents, Jakob Van Reenen Van Niekerk and Maria Magdalena Van Niekerk of South Africa; her sisters, Bettie Van Niekerk of South Africa and Adel Olivier of South Africa; a brother, Van Reenen of South Africa.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
