Lois Janet Shaner

Lois Janet (Coy) Shaner, 84, of Savannah GA died March 2, 2017. She passed away peacefully in her son Jeff's home after a long battle with illness. She is survived by her loving husband Ronald of 64 years, sons Jeff (Brenda) Savannah, GA and Ben (Amy) McMurray, PA, and daughter-in-law Beth Shaner of Springfield GA. She is also survived by her brother Ed of Glendale AZ, sister-in-law Christine Fuller of Leechburg, grandchildren, Brian Shaner (Roni), Janelle Altman (CJ), Brett Shaner, Matthew, Eric (Danielle) and Ryan Shaner, Sarah and Garrett (Megan) Shaner, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death in 2016 by her eldest son Mitch (Beth) of Springfield, GA, brothers William and Elby Coy, Jr., sisters Lucille Grimm and Grace Duckworth.  Lois was born April 17, 1932 in Leechburg, PA to the late Elby and Grace (Sadler) Coy. She graduated from Leechburg High School in 1950 and lived most of her life in Leechburg/Allegheny Township, PA. Lois worked as the church secretary at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leechburg for 30 plus years, the Allegheny Township tax office and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing cards with family and with her card club friends . She also enjoyed gardening, traveling, and hosting holiday family dinners.  In 2003 she and Ron moved to Trenton, SC.  For the past year she has lived with her son Jeff in Savannah, GA. She will be fondly missed by her family and friends. Services will be held at the Richmond Hill Funeral home, Richmond Hill GA, on March 7, 2017 at 6:00 PM.  Visitation is at 5:00 PM.
