Linda Elizabeth Sherrod, 79, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024, after a short illness. Born on October 29, 1944, in Clyde, GA, Linda was a lifelong resident of Richmond Hill and a dedicated member of Richmond Hill First Baptist Church.

She loved being a Mom to Debra and especially her beloved grandchildren Tyler and Danielle, and her great-granddaughter, Nora. She enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Linda's faith in God was at the center of her life, and she cherished worshiping and visiting with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Pauline Rushing; her devoted husband of 55 years, Daniel Sherrod Jr.; her sister, Mildred Hilliard; and her best friend, Cecilia Harn Sales.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Debra Sherrod Strickland; grandchildren, Tyler (Amanda) Gordon and Danielle Sherrod; great-grandchild, Nora Jane Gordon; cousin and lifelong friend, Jane (Dallas) Berentis; sister, Lawanda Edenfield; and brother, Kenneth Rushing.

Linda will be remembered for her kind heart, generosity, and unwavering faith. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Services for Linda will be held at Richmond Hill Funeral Home on Thursday, September 12th, at 3:30 p.m., with visitation beginning at 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow at the First Baptist Cemetery.
