On Sunday, August 10,2025, at 7:25pm, Linda Dawnelle Hunt-Tremain ran gleefully into the loving arms of Jesus. Linda is reunited with Allen Lee Tremain, her husband of 50 years, her parents (Marvin and Lena Hunt) and in-laws (Wilbur and Hazel Tremain), and generations of Believers before her. Linda is survived by one child, Catherine (Cathy) Tremain-Hicks, and two grandsons, Andrew and Jacob (Jake). Linda is the 3 rd of 8 children, and is preceded in death by her brother Johnathan Hunt, and is survived by Georgia Christina (James) Tucker, Karen (Frank) DeMayo, Henry (Ruth) Hunt, Norman Hunt, David (Marcy) Hunt and Lisa (Luther) Palmer.

Linda was born into public service (as a military brat), married into public service (a firefighter), and served professionally through 36 years of dedication to her students and peers, impacting thousands over multiple generations. In retirement, Linda faithfully served her church of New Life Church-Richmond Hill, her sewing groups of Common Threads (Richmond Hill) and Prairie Point Quilters (Yelm WA) who make projects for those in need, and as a master gardener with the Coastal Georgia Botanical Garden.

Linda was born at Ft. Bragg NC, and over the course of her youth, she lived in Germany twice, Kansas, and Kentucky. She finished high school at Winter Park HS in Orlando FL and married in November of 1971. She furthered her education at Daytona Beach Community College and completed her degree in Education at Florida State University. She began her career at Wewahitchka Elementary School and moved to Georgia in 1994 upon Allen's retirement from the Florida Division of Forestry. She taught at Gilmer County Middle School and Ellijay Elementary for another 23 years while pursuing her master's degree from the University of North Georgia, and her specialist in education from Piedmont College. Upon retirement, Allen and Linda moved to Washington State for 4 years before relocating to Richmond Hill GA in 2021.

Linda and Allen loved the outdoors, and spent vacations taking Cathy across the Unites States. Their joy in our nations parks was immense, and they shared their experiences with their extended family as well. They camped in everything from backpacks to motor homes and were happiest in their big red F150 with their Imagine behind, with their pups, and always near water.

In recent years, Linda and Cathy combined households, and she became a rock for their little family. Linda was an excellent Granna to "her boys," and took great joy in having a front-row seat for most of their teen years, including soccer games, hurricane and New Years' Eve parties, and driving lessons. She was grateful for the opportunity to watch her boys grow in faith in the Lord and to share in so much of their life.

To Cathy, Linda was a mentor, a counselor, and an encourager. She was her biggest cheerleader and closest friend, and she will be sorely missed.

In Lieu of flowers, donations on Linda's behalf are being accepted to New Life Church- Richmond Hill's ROOTS Crew Student Ministries Scholarship fund to help students in need for events and travel. She loved the leaders and students, and we would like to honor their impact on "our boys" lives.
