Leo Woodcock 90 years of age, of Richmond Hill, GA died on May 15, 2023 at his home after a long illness.

He was born in Candler County, Georgia, but had lived in Chatham and Bryan Counties since 1950 and was employed by Union Camp International Paper for 42 years as a pipe fitter.

After graduating from ECI High School in Twin City, Georgia in 1949 he enlisted in the United States Army and served for many years in the Army Reserves and the Navy Reserves. He served for 18 and 1/2 years in the Special Forces Reserves. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Savannah for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin Brooks Woodcock and Alice Williams Woodcock, daughter, June Ramirez, son, Michael Leo Woodcock, and son, Morgan Woodcock. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Harriett Armstrong Woodcock, a sister, Hazel Woodcock Jones (Ray), a daughter Joan Woodcock, and two grandsons, Chris and Aaron Boyd, several nephews and one niece.

Leo loved the woods and anything outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He could always be found tinkering with one of his boats or guns and planning his next adventure to the river or to the hunting club.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Richmond Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will follow with military honors at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah.
