Larry J. Woods, age 80, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022.

Larry was born in Savannah, Ga.  He has lived in Fleming since 1972.

He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and he was a retired welder having worked many years for Alloy Cladding.  Larry was a member of the Boilermakers Union Local 26, the DP Club, the Gob&AH, and the Richmond Hill Golf Club.

Larry was an avid golfer and outdoorsman.  He loved antique cars and guns.  He had many cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Woods and a son, Walter J. Thacker, Jr.

Larry is survived by his daughters, Kim Davis (Tommy) of Fleming, Wendy Shuman (Perry) of Fleming, and Lisa Cato (Willie) of Hinesville; his sons, Michael Thacker (Brandi) of Shellman Bluff and Keith Thacker (Bertha) of Midway; thirteen grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery in Fleming.
