Kenneth James Debol

December 4, 1041 – May 30, 2025

Ken Debol, avid fisherman, golfer, gold medal conversationalist, die hard Detroit Lions Fan, and self-proclaimed family Euchre champion peacefully gained his wings May 30, 2025.

Ken was born in Detroit, MI and lived in Bloomington, MN where he met his great love, Mary Jo.  They spent 39 loving years together and raised a beautiful family, before Mary Jo's passing in 2013.

Ken's kind heart was larger than the heavens.  He was never boastful, always charitable, and befriended anyone he had the pleasure of meeting, if only to put a smile on their face to brighten their day.

To Ken, time spent with family and friends was worth more than gold.  He looked forward to family gatherings, cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren and spent many hours on the links in search of the perfect game, or on the lake weekends looking for that trophy walleye for the wall.

Ken is survived by his children Kelly Jones (Ean), Matt Debol (Michelle), 5 grandchildren, Logan, Jaxon, Keira, Evan, and Haydin, 2 Brothers, 1 Sister, and many beloved family and friends.

Ken was never a man who wanted to be fussed over, so at his request, no services will be scheduled.  He did ask that donations be made in his honor to the Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society, or your local food bank.

Ken wanted to thank you all for the love, laughter, camaraderie, support, and friendship shared over his 83 years.  He will eternally carry each of you in his heart and hopes you will carry his memory in yours.

Epitaph by Merrit Malloy

When I die, give what's left of me away

To children and old men who wait to die.

And if you need to cry, cry for your brother walking the street beside you.

And when you need me, put your arms around anyone

And give them what you need to give to me.

I want to leave you something better than words or sounds.

Look for me in the people I've known or loved,

And if you cannot give me away,

At least let me live on in your eyes and not in your mind.

You can love me the most by letting hands touch hands,

By letting bodies touch bodies and letting go of children who need to be free.

Love doesn't die, People do.

So when all that's left of me is Love….

Give Me Away
