Julie Diane Hohnerlein Alderman passed away on April 19, 2024 to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Julie was born on February 23, 1958. She was native to Savannah, growing up on Adair Street. She was a member of Taliferro Baptist Church in her youth and later joined Compassion Christian. She graduated from Savannah High School in 1976. She went on to receive her bachelors in criminal justice from Armstrong Atlantic State University in 1981. She finished with a masters in Early Childhood Education and became a teacher at Richmond Hill Elementary School. She was devoted to every student that entered her classroom, and each of them held a special place in her heart. Julie was an avid card shark, a Georgia Bulldogs fan, adored her dog, Lucky, and loved to enjoy a good meal accompanied by a sweet tea.

She is survived by her three children; August Alderman (Jason) of Savannah, Amanda Long (Ben) of Ogden, Jenna Pawlak (Tyler) of Cincinnati, and 7 grandchildren (Isaiah, Charlotte, Charis, Titus, Silas, Ezekiel and Thea).

She was preceded in death by her mother, Monice Hohnerlein, her father, Joseph "Bubba" Hohnerlein Sr., and her brothers Joseph Hohnerlein Jr. and Carl Hohnerlein. Julie's father died when she was only six, and Monice raised her on her own, along with the help of her sisters and church family.

Family, friends, and others are invited to celebrate the life of Julie. A visitation will be held at Richmond Hill Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 23rd from 6-8 PM. The funeral ceremony will also be at Richmond Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 24th at 11 AM.
