Judy Holman Barber

A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Judy Barber leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, friendship, and countless memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her children Kim, Mike and Jim, grandchildren Ashley, Blake, Chelsey, Zac, Ty, Jason, Avery, Kyle, Carson and Jake as well as her great grandchildren Amelia, Jasper, Gaynes, Finley, Grace Maree, Beau, Meredith, Billy, Grace, Jude, Banks and Brady.

Throughout her life, she embraced the many adventures that came with being adevoted military wife and mother. Alongside her husband, James Barber, she traveled the world, making memories and calling many places home. Though life took her to many destinations, Cairo, Georgia, always held a special place in her heart.

Before making her home in Richmond Hill, Georgia, in 2017, she was a familiar and cherished face in Cairo. Many will remember her smiling through the window at the local bank, always ready with a warm greeting, a sucker, and a smile. It was never just a trip to the bank when she was there; it was an opportunity to brighten someone’s day.

She also touched countless young lives as a substitute teacher. Her time spent in classrooms allowed her to make a difference in the lives of so many children, leaving an impact that reached far beyond the school walls.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Barber, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, family, and adventures.

After moving to Richmond Hill in 2017, she continued to make memories and build relationships. During her time at Magnolia Manor, she was surrounded by care and kindness, especially by Donna, a beloved friend who became family. Donna’s love, companionship, and daily devotion meant more than words could ever express, and our family will forever be grateful for the special place she held in her life.

Those who knew her will remember her as spunky, fun-loving, strong-willed, and never one to leave her thoughts unspoken. She had a personality all her own and was never afraid to tell you exactly what was on her mind. Her honesty, humor, and unmistakable spirit made her unforgettable.

Above all, she was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family was an important part of her life’s story. She leaves behind grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren, along with family and friends whose lives were made better simply because they knew and loved her.

Her life was filled with adventures, friendships, little acts of kindness, and a whole lot of personality. Though she may no longer be handing out suckers and smiles, the memories she created and the lives she touched will continue to bring smiles for years to come.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
