John Hamilton Sellers, Jr., age 81, passed away suddenly Monday, May 6, 2024.

John was born in Blackshear, GA.  He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict and retired from the 165th Airlift Wing of the Georgia Air National Guard.  He worked for the Miami Dade Police Department and in 1981 brought his family back to Richmond Hill where he went to work with the Chatham County Sheriff's Department.  John retired from the Port Wentworth Police Department but did not stop working.  After his retirement, he worked for the U.S. Marshall's Service and then as a security guard for the Ford Field and River Club until his death.

John is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Camp Sellers.

He is survived by his daughters, Tamara Sellers Esquivel (Edward) and Kimberly Clark (Phillip); his son, Christopher Sellers (Christina); his sister, Elizabeth Widner; his grandchildren, Austin Bacon, Nyckolaus Esquivel, Julian Esquivel, Emily Esquivel, Luke Esquivel, Brody Levi Sellers, and Colton Sellers; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2024 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial at Daniel Baptist Cemetery with Military Honors following service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to: the Wounded Warrior Project or to the 200 Club of the Coastal Empire.
