John Arte Puckett, Sr., 88, passed away peacefully at his residence on August 31, 2025. Born on January 25, 1937, in Savannah, Georgia, John made Midway his home for the past 21 years.

He was a retired hydraulic mechanic, working many years with Kroger and previously with M&M. John enjoyed life's simple pleasures—fishing, camping, and cooking—and he valued time spent with family and friends. He also served as a Cub Scout leader, leaving a lasting impact on many young lives.

John was a devoted member of the Masonic community. He was a member of Zerubbabel Lodge #15, past patron of Button Gwinnett Chapter #497, a 32° Mason, a 50-year Mason, and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a proud member of the Alee Shrine.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy D. Puckett and a son, Joseph Edward Puckett. He is survived by his daughter, Dorothy Puckett (Albert Collins); his son, John A. Puckett, Jr. (Georgia); grandchildren, John A. Puckett III (Jessica), Jennifer Kennedy (Matt), Deva Underwood (Billy), David Todaro (Misty), and Amy Luongo (Matt); as well as seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 6–8 p.m. at Richmond Hill Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Richmond Hill Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Bonaventure Cemetery, where Masonic graveside rites will be rendered.
