Jason Matthew Petulla, 39, passed away on December 9, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on December 3, 1979 to Michael and Sandra Armstrong Petulla.

Jason was a U.S. Army Veteran who earned the rank of Sergeant E-5 during his eight year career.  Jason participated in Operation Enduring Freedom.  He served tours of duty in Afghanistan, Jordan, and Kuwait.  He earned many medals including the Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal (3 ^rd Award), Global War on Terrorism, Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/2 Campaign Stars, and the Army Achievement Medal.

Since leaving the Military a few months ago, Jason has been working at Publix while deciding his future plans.

He enjoyed watching Rams football, Braves baseball, and Orlando Magic basketball.  Jason liked spending time at the beach with his family and especially playing with his dogs.

Jason was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Armstrong Petulla and his father-in-law, Kenneth Roberts.

Jason is survived by his wife of 8 years, Nicole "Nikki" Petulla; a step-son, Justin Appell; his father, Michael Petulla of Cocoa Beach, FL; his brother, Kyle (Carrie) Petulla of Eustice, FL; his grandparents, Ed and Mary Jo Petulla of The Villages; his mother-in-law, Carolyn Roberts; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Jason) Farmer; brother-in-law, William (Ruth) Roberts; his nieces, Madison and Kenley Farmer; Jason also leaves behind his beloved pugs, Pierre and Winnie and his mom's dog, Simon.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 12:00 p.m. to funeral time.  Military honors will be provided by Ft. Stewart Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made in Jason's memory to assist his family.
