Merreta Jantile (Jan) Griffis Brown passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, GA. She was eighty-four years old.

Jantile was born January 18, 1937 in Odum, GA. She lived in Georgia most of her life but St. Simons Island, GA was always the place she called home.

She was a homemaker most of her life. She loved cooking and e ve ryone has a memory of their favorite food that she has cooked for them. She loved people and never met a stranger. She is remembered as a very kind and loving person. Her family was everything to her as she was to them.

Jantile was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Brown; a son, Torry Darrin Myers; parents, Oscar and Linnie Griffis; brothers, Quinton, Earl, Delmus and Denvis; sister, Myra Carter; and a daughter-in law, Linda Myers.

She is survived by her children, Rod Myers (Sandy) of Plainwell MI, Wes Myers (Bella) of Deland FL, Van Myers of Ft. Worth TX, Angie Myers Stinson (John) of Ruston LA, and daughter-in-law, Louise Thompson of Plainwell MI; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; brother, Harrell Griffis (Joyce) of Columbus MS; sister, Joy Polston (Wes) of Conyers GA; and nieces and nephews.
