James West, age 74, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021.

James was born in Savannah, GA.  He has lived in Portal for the past 2 years, prior to that he made his home in Ellabell.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a retired contracts inspector at Hunter Army-Air Field and Ft. Stewart.  James loved to fish and enjoyed taking his kids and grandkids fishing when he could.

He is survived by his wife, Annie West of Portal; 3 daughters, Tonya Clemons (Brandon) and Nancy Warman (Timothy) both of Ellabell, Mellinee West of Portal; a son, James West II (Amy) of Ellabell; his grandchildren, Brandie Clemons, Leigh Clemons, Bradley Clemons, Rayanna West, James Collins, James A. West III; and great-grandchildren, Madilyn McKenzie, Layla Jenkins, and Brinley West.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Pembroke Christian Church.
