James Elton Stafford, 67, passed away on February 23, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, Elton made his home in Richmond Hill for the past 38 years. He was the proud owner and operator of Stafford Plumbing, where he built a respected business through hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his customers and community.

Elton had a passion for life and the things he loved. He was a huge collector of NASCAR memorabilia. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and treasured his morning breakfasts with friends at Sunshine Breakfast Restaurant, where laughter and fellowship were always on the menu. Above all, Elton loved his family deeply, cherished his church, and quietly sought ways to help those less fortunate.

He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill.

Elton is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia D. Stafford; his sons, Mitchell Molpus, Steven Molpus, and Justin L. Stafford; his brothers, Jimmy Lee Stafford and Tony Jay Stafford; his grandchildren, Wesley Campbell, Bailey Campbell, Michael Robertson, Kaitlyn Molpus, Bryce Molpus, Addison Molpus, and Emma Molpus; and his two great-grandchildren, Michelle Campbell and Chandler Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
