James David Hostetler, age 81, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024.

David was born in Dayton, Ohio.  He lived in Savannah for many years before moving to Richmond Hill in 2011.

He was a retired sewing machine salesman for Moye Sewing Center after many years of service.  David was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War.

David was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a member and past president of the Mustang Club of America and received the "Lifetime Achievement Award" for his contributions towards the auctions and all of the monies he helped raise not only in Savannah, but across all of America.  He loved bass fishing and later in life Mustang Cars.  He never met a stranger and was a friend to all.  David enjoyed spending time with his family who he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Evan Walter Hostetler and Pauline Eleanor Hostetler; a sister, Loretta Black; and a brother, Richard Hostetler.

David is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Hostetler; his daughter, Tammy Medlin (Lee); his grandchildren, Cameron Medlin (Mackenzie) and Andrew Medlin; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Ebenezer Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Glennville, Ga.
