James "Jim" J. Holtz, 85, of Richmond Hill, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.

Born August 28, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois he was the son of the late William Holtz and Irene (Bentkowski) Holtz.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie A. (Sinclair) Holtz.

Jim moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin after graduating high school in Chicago. This is where he met the love of his life, Marie while she was picking potatoes. They married on June 1, 1957 and had five children prior to relocating to Marquette, Michigan in 1977. In 1993, he moved back to Green Bay until 1999 when he moved to Perrysburg, Ohio. He came to Richmond Hill in 2003 where he was a member of the St. Anne Catholic Church and an eleven year resident at Magnolia Manor Senior Living.

Jim was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He worked for 37 years for the United States Postal Service and retired in 1991 as the Postmaster in Marquette. Jim loved his family and was proud of their accomplishments and adventures, which he shared with whoever would listen. Jim enjoyed playing dominoes, cards, cribbage, Wii bowling, and attending sporting events with his grandchildren. Jim enjoyed collecting and wearing tee shirts that displayed interesting comments; he enjoyed the reactions he would receive on his shirts. Jim was a man of strong faith. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan much to the dismay of his children who were Green Bay Packers fans.

Jim is survived by his five children: Debra (Michael) Caelwaerts, Kevin (Kimberly) Holtz, Jeffery (Linda) Holtz, Michael Holtz, Lisa Holtz (Carl) Schneider. Thirteen grandchildren: Chad (Emily) Caelwaerts, Brian (Katherine) Caelwaerts, Nikolas (Carmela) Holtz, Meghan (Billy Rebosky) Holtz, Jeffery (Fashan) Holtz, Amanda Holtz, Jennie (Jon Hill) Hall, Micah (Keila) Nauman, Jane Nauman, Samantha Holtz, Steven Holtz, Taylor Schneider, and Colby Schneider. Eight great grandchildren: Logan Caelwaerts, Kyle Caelwaerts, Isabella Long, Sophia Holtz, Abigail Nauman, Micah Nauman Jr., Lillian Hall, and Emmett Hall. Brother-in-law Leo Sinclair, sister-in-law Ann Vandeloo and sister-in-law Lynn Sinclair. Many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife, parents, brother William Holtz, sister-in-law Janice Holtz, father-in-law and mother-in-law Bernard and Alma (Wilson) Sinclair, brother-in-law Bernard Sinclair, and brother-in-law Tommy Vandeloo.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Tuesday, June 1 st at St. Anne Catholic Church in Richmond Hill. Funeral services will be held following visitation at 11:00 am in the church with entombment to follow at Hillcrest Abbey East Memorial Park in Savannah.
