James Francis Clark, age 81, passed away on April 24, 2026. He was born on October 6, 1944.

James grew up in Central and South America and the Caribbean. He attended public, private, military, and Department of Defense schools prior to graduating from Marquette University in 1966.

A dedicated educator and coach, James taught Spanish and shared his passion for the game of soccer with many young athletes. He coached soccer at Virginia Military Institute and later founded the soccer program at Richmond Hill High School following his retirement from the Army.

James proudly served his country with a tour of duty in the Republic of Vietnam. In his later years, he was a member of the DP Club, which met every Wednesday at Plum's, and he was a devoted parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, JoseFina L. Gallegos Clark.

He is survived by his sons, Patrick James Clark and Kevin Francis Clark; his sister, Patricia Clark McClure; his grandsons, Aaron Tyler Clark (Kylie) and Cameron James Clark; his nephews, David (Ariane) and John McClure (Warner); and his nieces, Natalie Clark Lancaster and Liz Clark Garrety (Brian).

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Richmond Hill Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
