James E. O'Bryan, beloved brother and uncle, died peacefully after a short illness on September 24, 2018.

Jim was born June 22, 1943 in Richmond Hill, Georgia and was a lifelong resident of Richmond Hill.  He retired from the USDA as a lab technician.  Jim was a self-taught musician and Bluegrass music's biggest fan.  He played with several bands including the O'Bryans, the Dixie Bluegrass, and the Southern Wiregrass.  He loved music and played and sang at many churches and Bluegrass festivals in the Southeast.  He was also the bassist and a member of Corinth Baptist Church.  He was a member of Bryan Lodge #303.  Jim was an avid supporter of Richmond Hill High School's softball and basketball teams. He was present at almost all home games.

Jim is preceded in death by parents Robert Barney O'Bryan and Altha Wise O'Bryan, and brother Bobby O'Bryan.

He is survived by his sister, June Spence (Jack), sister in law Betty O'Bryan, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday from 11 to 12pm at Richmond Hill Funeral Home with funeral immediately following.  Burial will be at Corinth Baptist Church.

Family will accept flowers or donations to Richmond Hill High School Softball and Basketball Teams.
